Northern Maharashtra.It's the gateway towards north.This land is protected by Satpuda,Vindhya mountain  It has a long legacy,references right from Ramayana, Mahabharata are available.This region was ruled by Gupta,Satavahana Shrung Shaka Abhir,Wakatak Rashtrakoot,Kalchuri,Chalukya,& Yadav dynasty before arrival of Mughals. It is well known for vast jungle.Bananas cotton  etc are cash crops.Gold smith, export import business were at its peak. Hence was trade center before industrial revolution.This land has  contributed in every field culture,literature,freedom fighters,etc.
